Canon vs Nikon vs Sony vs Others
Issue #13

Don’t get too hung up on this one.
You’re a photographer, and a part of your craft is mastering your tools.
This doesn’t happen overnight, and if you’re like most photographers, you’ll push yourself to get the most out of your tools for the rest of your life.
The primary tools are consistent - a camera, lens, and complementary add-ons.
While many of the add-ons can be from different or third-party brands, including your lenses, your camera is different.
Your camera is a more personal item you should and will grow attached to - the brand matters.
From the technical nuances to the placement of the buttons and features, each camera brand has its own personality and unique qualities that camera owners become accustomed to and bond with.
The brand you choose matters...but only to you.
I’m not going to tell you which brand you should buy, but I will give you some super scientific advice on choosing your camera.
Are you ready? Here we go.
Step #1
Go to a local camera shop.
Start with one brand. Hold the camera in your hand, and see how it feels.
Play around with it, chat about the features and get a feel for it.
Then do this for each brand.
If you can rent each one for a day and test them out, that’s even better.
Bottom line, your camera is a tool. Make sure it’s a tool that feels right for you because you will use it a LOT.
People will tell you this one is better or that one is better.
They all have opinions, and every opinion is 100% correct…to them.
Your opinion is the only one that matters, and your clients don’t care and will never know the difference.
All major camera brands take excellent photos.
You’ll find professionals and ambassadors supporting the merits of every brand.
I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them as long as you are making the choice.
You may even want to shoot with a few different brands. That’s actually more common than you’d think.
This isn’t scientific (I kinda lied to you). Your camera is just a tool.
Use the one that feels best in your hand, and that’s the one you’ll enjoy using over and over.
“Loyal customers, they don’t just come back, they don’t simply recommend you, they insist that their friends do business with you.”
