Hi Chris, I don't usually like to go to weddings or any other event if I can avoid it. So reading about being a wedding photographer was the last thing on my mind. But I have to say, I was riveted reading your article. Thinking about it, it is a real performance art on the photographer's part right? All the dynamics involved. So interesting.

Thank you for the extremely kind words, Cecil!

I’ve been blessed beyond measure to make a living in creativity and though I talk weddings, art takes on so many forms and I love talking about the quiet things a bit louder than most.

Wedding photography is certainly a performance piece! Whether you know it or not, eyes are always on you because you’re usually the only one moving during the biggest moments of the day.

Your collage work is exquisite and I look forward to reading your work!

It’s just like a good story. Be the Obi-Wan Kenobi because your bride is Luke Skywalker.

I like this...a LOT!

Of course I'll have to turn my bride into Princess Leia somehow. No chance Padme will ever make it into this story.

Ultimately Luke is the young extension of himself so maybe it’s Leia and bride and Luke as groom?

Very shrewd assessment!

The force is strong with this one!

Oh man. Even as a guy who very much dislikes posed shots, I understand that they are pretty much a requirement at anyway.

Heck, even in my son-in-laws wedding last week, although I wasn't the official photographer, I was mostly drafted to take group family pictures.

Not my preferred style. But most of them all changed their Facebook profiles to pictures I took, so they must have liked them. 😎

"Drafted to take the group photos?!!!"

The hired photographer didn't take those? Did they hire "Steve?"

I'm happy that you were there for them. The team photos aren't sexy, but they still hold a nice place in history.

Welcome back!

Oh no, I should have been more clear. Not bride/groom groups. Extended family who were a little mad they didn't get included in those. 🙃

Gotcha. That’s a reception thing typically.
